Veteran's Day BBQ

A day just to remember the Veterans that have more than paid their share of dues to protect





America and Americans. My eyes welled up several times yesterday as I scanned the small VFW hall full of Vets. The aged memories that they must carry with them that probably still seem so fresh. Every one of them were courteous and gracious to us new-comers. My husband is a Desert Storm Veteran. He is proud of his having done his time for his country.
We had a great time at the VFW hall Tuesday. They served potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, corn on the cob, grilled chicken, chipped beef with BBQ sause on the side, slices of chicken and ham sandwich style, many types of chips and several desserts including pumpkin pie, pecan pie, chocolate cake and an American Flag shaped white cake...delicious.
The kids had a blast. They had two different Jumper-roo Rooms. Even Ben, our dog, had a great time with all those kids.
