Back On the Tires

It wasn't all that bad on Ferry. Actually it was a great experience. We even got out from behind the broken islands to feel the real "ocean motion". The two youngest kids were playing with a large tonka truck. Each of them just stood across from each other and let the pitching of the Ferry do all the work on the truck. It rolled it to one kid, she'd turn the truck around in time for the pitch to roll it back towards her brother. He'd turn the truck around in time for the pitch to roll the truck back to her. It was funny. We're all weavin' and bobbin' with the boat. I loved it. It makes me even more anxious to own my own sailboat.
Anyway, we finally hit Bellingham, Washington and disembarked with the RV. We didn't even look back. Matter a fact, didn't even get any pictures! The camera never got pulled back out until we hit Nevada and Las Vegas!
Up until then, Roger and I just shotgun drove straight thru the night. We didn't stop and rest until we got down thru most of Nevada. Then we holed-up in a small hotel along the highway. It felt good to rest. It had a pool and some slot machines and a nice restaurant. All the things these travelers like at rest stops.
The scenery was new to us. The plant life was more desert looking and the folks seemed at odds with us being there. I don't think there's anything in that part of Nevada that would call us back there.
Now Las Vegas! That's a whole 'nother story. Boy oh, Boy! What a city! I can't wait to go back to that city! We drove straight thru it and then around it. It was an awesome site to see for sure! Here are some sites we saw on our way thru the center of the city:

Caesars Palace and Treasure Island and a Flying Saucer stuck in the side of a building! There was a motorcycle coming out of the side of a building too. And statues! The MGM building!
Lots and lots to see. I am in hopes that Roger and I will spend our 19th wedding anniversary there this November. Very exciting!
