What a weekend! The ride down south was absolutely beautiful! The cattle and horse country is wonderful to drive through. The green starting to grow back on the trees and sub-bush is just so wonderful to see in the Spring.
The volleyball matches were tougher than the other two. We have the skill as a team to beat any one of those teams, however....that is not how it went. We don't know quite what happened here, but out of all of the games they played, they only won one. We did not make it to finals. The team had to stay and officiate for the other teams' games. Punishment maybe?
At the very least, the girls went home with a new view on the game. It can be fun and serious at the same time. Our girls have only been a team this year. Who they played against down there have been team mates/school mates for at least three years. The camaraderie between the players was admireable. We were missing that between our girls.
They'll work on it. Along with other things they picked up from watching the other teams play...and win.
Overall, it was a great weekend. A learning experience and a couple of nights away from home.
I happened to have taken the only video footage during one of their great plays.
Hope you enjoy the video below.
